The Ice Hockey Coach
"The Ice Hockey Coach" is a popularization-educational journal that brings the ice hockey community the latest knowledge and perspectives in the field of coaching, methodology and sports sciences. Through our articles, we provide current knowledge and insightful stories from sports professionals from all over the world.
The journal serves as a platform for Slovak Ice Hockey Federation to educate, share innovations and promote discussion among professionals in the field of ice hockey. With an emphasis on scientifically validated information and methods, we aim to offer articles reflecting current challenges and trends in the sport, while striving to contribute to the development of ice hockey at all levels.
Our goals are:
- Promoting the development of coaches at all levels.
- Sharing the latest research and practice knowledge.
- Inspiring coaches to implement evidence-based practices in their daily work.
- Providing tools for effective coaching and athlete development.
What methods do we use?
The journal uses an interdisciplinary approach combining sport science, pedagogy and other human sciences. Published articles are peer-reviewed by professionals in the field, thus we strive to ensure the highest quality content.
What types of articles can you look forward to?
In the magazine you will find different types of articles, through which we try to broaden the scope and attract as many sports professionals as possible, not only from the Slovak hockey community. Among our types of articles, you can find:
- Original research
- A research article presents the results of original scientific research. This type of article presents new findings that are validated using scientific methods, and is often strongly supported by scientific literature.
- Tutorial
- A tutorial is a practical instruction or guide that explains step-by-step a particular method, technique or process. It is designed to improve the reader's skills and often includes examples, illustrations or recommendations for implementation in practice.
- Editorial
- An editorial is an opinion piece, usually written by the editors of the journal or selected sport experts. This type of article expresses a position or opinion on a current topic or issue and is intended to generate debate or draw attention to an important aspect.
- Interview
- An interview is a dialogue with an expert, coach, athlete or other prominent figure. Through this format, we seek to offer a unique perspective on the respondent's experiences, knowledge or opinions, often in an informal but information-rich style.
- Historical review
- A historical review analyzes and summarizes the development of a particular topic, method, or approach over time. This type of article helps to understand the historical context and key moments that have shaped the current state of ice hockey.
- Survey
- This type of article collects and analyzes the opinions, attitudes, or preferences of a particular group of people. Subsequently, the results of such surveys provide valuable and interesting data on current trends or how a given community perceives a particular issue.
- Products review
- A product review evaluates and analyses a particular product or tool. With this kind of article, we want to help the hockey community with technical and material support, in the form of offering expert reviews on the strengths and weaknesses of various sports products.
- News & Updates
- This type of article is always published at the end or beginning of the year, reporting on current events, new projects, major milestones or news in the community for the year.
- Q&A
- The Q&A article format collects frequently asked questions from readers or the hockey community and provides answers from selected experts.
